The Antithesis of Self Consciousness

Aaron Copland is known by his peers as the “Dean of American Music”. A title he earned largely from how generous he was with his time mentoring young composers. You may be familiar with some of his work, you may not. More interestingly, much of Copland’s work served as inspiration for other popular music.

Inspiration as a catalyst for more inspiration.

Notably his song "Fanfare for the Common Man” served as the theme music for Superman, the theme music for Star Trek, and inspired the score for Saving Private Ryan. Take a listen, I bet you recognize it:
