The IRS kills Love

Careful who you claim on your taxes

“Love never dies a natural death. It dies because we don't know how to replenish its source. It dies of blindness and errors and betrayals. It dies of illness and wounds; it dies of weariness, of witherings, of tarnishings.”
Anaïs Nin

Anais Nin was no stranger to replenishing love. In fact, you could call her an expert.

For 11 years, Nin was married to two men without either knowing about the other.

The charade only ended when both men claimed her on their tax returns. Perhaps we should add “It dies because of the IRS” to this quote.

Husband pictured annulled their marriage after the IRS unmasked Nin’s double life. Oddly, they still lived together till her death in 1977.
