We love lunatics

“Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty… I have never in my life envied a human being who led an easy life. I have envied a great many people who led difficult lives and led them well” -Theodore Roosevelt

You get credit for the challenges life throws at you. We all have them and we all have the choice to react to them with courage.

But you get even more credit for the challenges you pull out of life. The mountains you point at and say “I’m climbing that thing” matter even more than the ones that get dropped on your path.

It feels like lunacy, but we seem to love and revere the lunatics.
